Reset and reestablish the gold standard
Policy analyst Franklin Cudjoe has commended GoldBod for its conduct with international partners while urging the organisation to maintain the same standards in its local engagements.
In a statement, he said the company’s dealings with global partners have been professional and transparent, citing feedback from a representative of a multinational group.
“One principal of a multinational group told me how impressed they were with the CEO’s effectiveness,” he said. “He never asked for deals or percentages and even covered his own travel costs to discuss a multi-million investment opportunity. This is rare in Africa.”
Mr Cudjoe, however, questioned reports suggesting a different approach in some local engagements, including sponsorships and procurement.
“I really wonder why GoldBod should be seen to be lowering standards for some local champions,” he said.
He called on the organisation to maintain consistency across all operations.
“Reset and reestablish the gold standard you are known for internationally,” he added.
